Hi. I’m Daina,

I’m a Newcastle-based photographer, a mum, a former professional dancer, and a former events manager. For over a decade, I’ve been capturing families and women-led businesses with care, intention, and a touch of magic.

Becoming a mum made me fall in love with the little things: the tiny quirks, the everyday chaos, and the fleeting moments you never want to forget. Dance taught me to see movement and expression. Running big events sharpened my eye for detail. Photography lets me blend all those worlds together into images that feel real, alive, and full of heart.

Outside of photography, life is loud, messy, and full of colour — and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love cooking wholesome meals, moving my body with yoga, and indulging my spiritual side as a third-generation astrologer. Music feeds me — especially the classics from before my time — and I’m happiest laughing with friends who feel like family over extra dirty martinis. I’m endlessly curious, love diving into new ideas, and thriving in the beautiful, sometimes chaotic whirlwind of life with two small kids and my ridiculously supportive husband, who is also my best friend.

Life, for me, is about showing up fully — in your work, your home, and your relationships. That’s exactly what I bring to my photography: creating space for genuine connection, real emotion, and moments you’ll treasure forever.

Want the full story? I’ve written a blog about how I got started, the experiences that shaped me, and what drives me as a photographer.

Family Sessions, Reimagined

As a family photographer in Newcastle, I create family documentary sessions designed to feel effortless, intimate, and real.

In a world that constantly pulls your attention elsewhere, Mumma, this is your permission to be fully present — to step into the frame, not stand behind it.

So often, mothers are the memory-keepers, but rarely the ones remembered. These sessions gently change that.

Led by your child’s natural rhythm, I guide with subtle intention — creating space for genuine connection to unfold. When you soften into the moment, something shifts. The laughter becomes unforced. The closeness deepens. The love is visible.

And you will look radiant — not because of a pose, but because you are fully there, alive in the moment.

These images become more than photographs. They are proof that you were present, that you were adored, and that you belong in your family’s story.

Enquire today to create a session that captures the love, warmth, and radiance of your family — and of you.

Aligned, Intentional Branding

As a branding and lifestyle photographer, I work with creative Newcastle entrepreneurs who want imagery that feels intentional, aligned, and true to their vision.

Sessions can include:
• Polished studio portraits with professional lighting
• Lifestyle imagery showcasing your products with warmth and connection
• Documentary-style storytelling capturing a day in your business
• Behind-the-scenes moments that reveal your workflow and creative process

Whether it’s a studio shoot or a day-in-the-life session, the goal is the same: to capture you in your element. Confident. Capable. Authentic.

Because people don’t just connect with what you sell — they connect with how you show up.

I have worked with Daina for a few years now to capture experiences for my creative business. Every time, I have received such beautiful photos. With our newborn baby, I immediately thought of her work and knew she’d be perfect to photograph our new family. It was wonderful having Daina capture such a significant, lifetime moment in our home - a moment that I had forever dreamt of. Daina made us feel so at ease, provided guidance that felt natural and ultimately, provided us with such gorgeous photos of our first baby. We are very grateful —

  • I honestly don’t know how to properly express how much Daina absolutely nailed our family photoshoot. We chose to have our session at our much loved home before moving on to the next chapter, and my hope was to capture the real energy of this season, our home as it is now, with my husband, our dog, and our two children.

I am beyond happy with the results. The images feel so true to us as a family, honest, relaxed, and full of life. They even made me see our “half finished” home in a whole new light (it looks incredible in the photos!).

Daina was like a fly on the wall as we moved and played from room to room. There are photos where I don’t even remember her being in certain spots because we were so caught up in the moment. Those ended up being some of the very best images, unforced, intimate, and rich with real life.

We’ll treasure these forever. Thank you Daina! —

Daina is an absolute gem! I’ve worked with her many times now across both my business (Pleasure and Peach) and personal life, and she is one of my favourite photographers to work with. She always takes the time to really understand your vision and what you want to get out of a shoot, and she always brings it to life beautifully. You can always rely on Daina to work collaboratively and brings such a calm, generous, and easygoing vibe that instantly puts you at ease —

  • I'm based in Newcastle, Australia, but will happily travel nationally or internationally for work.

  • Yes - I love to photograph many different styles of photography and have a lot of experience and expertise in capturing events (both personal and for business), weddings, food, editorial, campaigns, and interior photography.

Simply enquire and I can provide you pricing and portfolios to match.

  • I recommend booking several weeks in advance, to allow time to create your ideal shoot and to ensure you don’t miss out. If time doesn’t allow for several weeks, enquire anyway, and we’ll see if we can make it work.

  • For Family clients, it will take roughly 3 weeks to receive your slideshow, and then your full gallery 24hrs later (this all depends on how quickly you purchase your collection).

For branding clients, 3 weeks is generally my default timeline for you to receive your full gallery but this depends on how big the project is, and my editing queue at the time.

I put a lot of love and care into perfecting each image, which is why it'll take me a little bit more time to deliver your final images. If you'd like your photos sooner, please ask me about the rush fee.

  • No, I do not. The reason being is that with my family clients in particular, waiting for the big reveal is a strategic moment I’ve put a lot of consideration into. If you get a bunch of sneak peaks the next day, yes it’s exciting for you, but it also lessens the impact seeing everything come together for the first time on a big screen.

For other clients in general, having to upload photos, select, and edit a handful of favourites within 24hrs, before I’ve had a chance to really look at what I’ve shot, can end up resulting in a messy, rushed job that doesn’t represent my work ethic. So no, I don’t send out sneak peaks and it’ll make the wait even more worth it, in the end.
